New Sharon is a town in Franklin County, Maine, United States, incorporated in 1794. The population was 1,407 at the 2010 census. The town is roughly bisected by the Sandy River a tributary of the Kennebec River.Fred H. Hale, Sr.–who was recognized as the world's oldest living man from March 5, 2004 to November 19, 2004–was born in the town on December 1, 1890.
